📋 Description

• Lead all layout and field engineering work across the assigned region, overseeing multiple layout crews and allocating personnel and equipment across concurrent projects • Perform and direct line and grade work for building layout and control • Review work during placement to confirm accuracy and tolerances • Review contract drawings, specifications, and shop drawings for coordination and installation • Identify and resolve drawing discrepancies before execution • Establish tolerance checklists and direct detailed as-built documentation • Assist and train personnel in preparing proper as-builts • Prepare drawings and sketches supporting change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project coordination • Resolve tolerance disputes and jobsite challenges through technical judgment • Collaborate with safety, QA/QC, field operations, and project management teams • Partner with the Field Operations Manager to forecast crew needs, standardize practices, and develop the field engineering function • Maintain safety and quality standards • Manage field engineers, layout leads, and survey crews across the assigned region • Train team members, plan and assign work, appraise performance, address complaints, and resolve problems • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or another relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and field experience • Seven or more years of field engineering or construction layout experience • Three or more years managing a survey crew or serving as a layout lead • Expert knowledge of survey equipment and Total Stations; Sokkia preferred, with Leica, Topcon, or Trimble experience • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or BIM software, including extracting coordinate points from drawings • Proficiency in Bluebeam and Procore • Highly skilled at reading and understanding structural, architectural, and civil drawings • Strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills • Ability to manage diverse teams across multiple jobsites • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced team environment • Must be able to travel up to 75% of the time • Visa sponsorship is not available for this role • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds • Overtime may be required • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
