📋 Description

• Oversee software engineering across device-side product areas including field operations and device management tooling, exam-room patient engagement technology, waiting-room displays, and back-office systems • Own engineering outcomes across multiple device product areas • Manage senior Engineering Leads, individual-contributor engineers, and full-time/contract engineers • Own hiring, performance management, and career growth • Lead code reviews and contribute directly to code where needed • Champion AI-assisted and agentic engineering practices • Coordinate priorities and dependencies across three or more concurrent product areas • Represent device product areas in architecture reviews and make architecture trade-off decisions • Develop engineers and Engineering Leads in their roles and career paths • Represent engineering in planning with Product and Design leadership • Partner on organizational design and resourcing • Report product-area health and staffing needs to executive stakeholders

🎯 Requirements

• 12+ years of software engineering experience • 4+ years leading engineering teams • Experience owning outcomes across three or more concurrent product areas or technical domains • Experience managing senior technical/architectural leads, individual-contributor engineers, and full-time/contract engineers across onshore and offshore teams • Direct responsibility for hiring, performance, and career growth • Hands-on Android software experience, including custom Android ROMs, MDM, and IoT device communication protocols such as AWS IoT Core and BLE/GATT • Understanding of device constraints including limited resources, intermittent connectivity, remote updates and rollback, and multiple Android releases • Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript front-end frameworks • Experience with backend services such as Kotlin/HTTP4k, Node/serverless, or equivalent JVM/Node microservices • Hands-on use of AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude • Experience driving AI-assisted or agentic practices across an engineering team • Ability to direct teams, deliver product features, and improve software quality and development practices • Ability to evaluate architecture and code from staff-level engineers • Ability to establish engineering best practices, operational excellence, and execution discipline • Experience leading through organizational change and team transitions • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field is listed as a desired qualification, not a requirement
