• Manage and supervise Generator Technicians in the assigned area. • Assist with prescreening, interviewing, technical training, procedural training, and performance management. • Ensure compliance with company policies, Life Critical Rules, regulatory requirements, and HSE expectations. • Ensure continuous operation, proper setup, maintenance, repair, servicing, and performance checks of generators and associated equipment. • Oversee daily reporting, work assignments, job completion, job status, and updates in Pearce’s reporting system. • Establish routine maintenance procedures and ensure testing, preventive maintenance, and record keeping are completed. • Coordinate with senior management on equipment cost-effectiveness, upgrades, and additions. • Review equipment trouble reports and ensure alarms are cleared promptly. • Requisition materials and supplies and maintain adequate inventory. • Assist with dispatch and scheduling and provide accurate job pricing for quotes. • Update customers on work-order status and resolve or route service inquiries. • Assist with field installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical systems. • Prepare generator-related reports, analyses, and research for management. • Ensure technicians complete required technical, safety, and compliance training and verify competency. • Partner with Fleet, Procurement, HSE, Human Resources, and other support functions. • Ensure vehicles, tools, equipment, and safety devices are inspected, maintained, and available. • Travel to worksites as required and work independently in remote locations. • Lead field safety through jobsite visits, coaching, observations, corrective-action follow-up, incident learning, and critical-risk control reinforcement. • Ensure compliance with JHAs, LOTO, electrical safety, energy isolation, PPE, environmental, fuel-handling, spill-prevention, waste-management, and regulated-material disposal requirements. • Complete other duties assigned to meet business needs.
• 5 or more years in the mechanical or generator industry; management experience preferred. • Maintenance/repair supervisory experience required. • Thorough knowledge of generator systems and electronic, mechanical, and electrical components. • Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other regulatory requirements governing generator service operations. • Proficiency with computer systems and strong mechanical skills. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to work accurately under time constraints and deadlines and work independently. • Valid driver’s license. • DOT certification. • Ability to lead safe field operations through hazard recognition, risk assessment, coaching, incident learning, and regulatory compliance. • Ability to inspect and troubleshoot equipment and alarms visually and audibly. • Ability and willingness to drive long distances and work daytime, evening, night, overtime, emergency callouts, weekends, and holidays as required. • Ability to lift over 50 pounds and perform stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and prolonged standing. • Ability to communicate orally by telephone. • Professional and cooperative relationships with company personnel and contractual contacts.
