📋 Description

• Develop, implement, and maintain automated test scripts for unit, integration, and end-to-end functional testing • Ensure automated test cases are executable by the end of each Agile sprint and delivered for the Government-managed DevSecOps pipeline • Write test cases prior to code development in collaboration with software developers, supporting Test-Driven Development • Analyze test automation coverage and contribute to the Test Automation State Assessment Report and automation completion project plan • Automate adjacent legacy test cases to expand regression test coverage across the DEERS application portfolio • Develop and maintain Requirements Traceability Matrices at the end of each development cycle or sprint • Assist with UAT plans, test scenarios, and test scripts for Government and external partner acceptance testing • Document test activities, test results, and defect findings in the Government-provided Test Case Management System • Contribute to Testing Reports, Release Notes, and Software Version Descriptions • Participate in mandatory code reviews at 50%, 75%, and 90% development completion • Monitor and enforce hard quality thresholds • Triage and track defects in JIRA, analyze issues, replicate errors, and support escalation reporting • Support application security scanning using Fortify, Sonatype, and BURP • Review and document code scan results before production releases and when rule packs or STIGs change • Conduct accessibility testing against WCAG 2.0 Level AA standards • Assist with VPATs, remediation reports, and Section 508 compliance reporting • Support stress and load testing in the ProdSim environment • Assist with Disaster Recovery testing • Support IV&V of application changes in the UAT environment before production deployment • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives • Maintain sprint-level defect tracking, test case completion status, and burn-down metrics in JIRA • Adhere to deployment pipeline standards and quality gates • Contribute QA metrics and status to the Monthly Quality Status Report

🎯 Requirements

• 0 years with BS/BA; 4 years with HS diploma • Obtain and maintain public trust clearance • Obtain IAM/IAT Level II certification (CompTIA Security+) • Experience in software quality assurance, test automation, or software testing roles • Foundational understanding of test automation principles and experience writing automated test scripts in at least one automation framework or scripting language, such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Python, or Java • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies and DevSecOps principles • Basic experience with defect tracking tools, preferably JIRA • Understanding of the software testing lifecycle, including unit, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking • Ability to document test results clearly and accurately • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and communicate effectively with developers, leads, and Government stakeholders • ISTQB Foundation Level certification or equivalent preferred • Familiarity with Test-Driven Development practices preferred • Exposure to Fortify, Sonatype, or BURP preferred • Experience with Section 508 / WCAG 2.0 Level AA accessibility testing preferred • Familiarity with ServiceNow preferred • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated test integration within a DevSecOps environment preferred • Exposure to Oracle or PL/SQL database environments preferred • Prior experience supporting DoD or Federal government IT programs preferred
