📋 Description

• Maintain and repair contracted and non-contracted generator and power distribution equipment • Provide technical support to customers on operational and maintenance aspects • Perform battery installations and replacements • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on contracted equipment • Provide customer contact and interface • Communicate availability status to the corporate office • Use electronic and electrical test equipment as necessary • Coordinate and manage on-site subcontractors hired by PSS • Maintain the company vehicle in safe and operational condition • Ensure work is performed to PSS standards • Complete Field Service Reports, Time Sheets, Expense Reports, and other required reports accurately and on time • Maintain technical documentation • Attend company-required training • Cross-train in other areas as needed • Provide 24x7 on-call services as required • Travel daily and work independently at customer sites

🎯 Requirements

• Level II Technician requires three years of field experience servicing generator systems • Some experience servicing 500kW+ generator systems • Proficiency with preventative maintenance • Experience retrofitting basic controls • Experience with minor ATS repairs and loadbanking equipment • High School diploma or GED equivalent, related military experience or equivalent field experience • Ability to perform triennial maintenance, engine diagnostics, fuel system priming, and failed engine component replacement • Operational and functional understanding of Automatic Transfer Systems; able to troubleshoot and repair with minimal direction • Ability to read electronic schematics and troubleshoot mechanical and electronic systems to the component level with guidance • Experience with or ability to quickly learn Woodward, Beckwith, and PLC controls • Ability to read and interpret technical instructions, safety manuals, service manuals, policies, and procedures • Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions • Must observe all safety standards • Computer fluency, including ERP systems, email, and Microsoft Office products • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Proven reasoning abilities and sound judgment • Process-oriented with attention to detail • Ability to deliver on-time results • Collaborative, teamwork-oriented working style • Willingness and ability to attend company-required training • Own and maintain a personal set of mechanical tools • Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull 20–75 pounds • Ability to climb ladders and perform stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling • Ability to wear required PPE, including protective glasses, gloves, and footwear • Ability to drive a heavy-duty truck for up to 10 consecutive hours • Willingness to work long and unpredictable hours • Must pass pre-employment background check, drug testing, and MVR clearance • Willingness to travel out of market/state up to 25% of the time • Willingness to work outdoors in all types of weather and in hazardous environments
