📋 Description

• Review requirements and acceptance criteria to identify unclear requirements, missing scenarios, edge cases, and risks • Create, maintain, and execute test cases covering expected behavior, failures, regressions, and real user workflows • Use Claude Code to generate and refine test scenarios, identify edge cases, investigate defects, understand application behavior, and assist with automated testing • Write and refine prompts for AI-assisted testing, analysis, and code generation • Review and validate AI-generated tests, analysis, and code • Follow HIPAA and data-handling guidelines; use synthetic, mocked, or de-identified data and escalate potential production-data or PHI needs • Identify, document, and track defects with reproduction steps, expected and actual behavior, evidence, and context • Investigate issues using SQL, browser developer tools, application logs, APIs, source code, automated tests, and AI-assisted analysis • Use SQL to validate application data and investigate application behavior • Work with QA Automation Engineers to prioritize and sometimes build and maintain Playwright automated tests • Contribute automated tests to the CI/CD pipeline • Work with engineers to reproduce issues, validate fixes, understand root causes, and assess regression impact • Support accessibility testing involving WCAG and Section 508 and apply security-conscious testing practices • Communicate testing progress, blockers, risks, and concerns • Track testing activity, defects, and test coverage using Jira and XRay • Build understanding of the products, customers, QA practices, software development lifecycle, and Health and Human Services domain • Grow toward independently owning testing approaches and quality assessments for product features and areas

🎯 Requirements

• 0–5 years of experience in software quality assurance, software testing, software development, or equivalent demonstrated technical capability • Working knowledge of SQL and ability to write queries to validate data and investigate application behavior • Strong attention to detail • Clear written and verbal communication, especially when documenting unexpected or complex software behavior • Ability to turn requirements and user workflows into meaningful test scenarios, including edge cases and failure conditions • Curiosity and willingness to investigate unfamiliar features, systems, and technical problems • Comfort using AI-assisted engineering tools, including writing clear, specific prompts • Judgment to refine AI prompts and verify AI-generated suggestions, tests, analysis, and code • Understanding of responsible data handling and protecting PHI and sensitive customer information • Exposure to automated testing tools or frameworks and interest in building stronger automation skills • Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and automated testing in development and deployment pipelines • Collaborative approach to working with product managers, engineers, and Software QA Engineers • Experience with issue and test management tools such as Jira and XRay, or ability to learn them quickly • Must follow HIPAA and data-handling guidelines during testing and investigation • Helpful, but not required: Playwright or similar browser automation framework • Helpful, but not required: Claude Code with Playwright, including Claude Playwright CLI or MCP-based workflows • Helpful, but not required: API testing • Helpful, but not required: Git and source control workflows • Helpful, but not required: CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Actions • Helpful, but not required: browser developer tools, application logs, or other debugging techniques • Helpful, but not required: accessibility testing, including WCAG or Section 508 • Helpful, but not required: security testing or secure software development practices • Helpful, but not required: healthcare billing software or healthcare billing workflows
