📋 Description

• Maintain responsibility for assigned School of Medicine and Dentistry management areas, including internal financial reporting, account and fund classification, ledgers, and research financial management • Analyze and interpret financial, statistical, and operational data to identify trends, variances, and significant relationships • Analyze Sponsored Awards Receivable projects and support revenue recovery and SMD Finance & Operations initiatives • Prepare monthly SMD profit and loss statements, budget-to-actual variance analyses, and reporting • Manage Grants Out of Award and Grant Deficit initiatives and co-present findings at monthly MSAG meetings • Oversee and approve monthly reconciliations of SMD Finance & Operations operating accounts • Test accounting data, account balances, and reporting timelines for integrity • Interpret and make decisions on accounting treatment of financial transactions • Approve first-level transactions affecting SMD and guide corrections or manual transactions • Train incoming staff on UR Financials and journal entry processes • Ensure proper billing of University Hospital Affiliates and deposit checks • Compile annual AAMC Faculty Salary, SMD Finance & Operations space, and equipment surveys • Lead assigned research, planning, and change-recommendation projects, including timelines, activity plans, and staff coordination • Provide analytical and operational support to the Associate Dean & Senior Director of Operations, including insurance claims, space productivity, sponsored funding analysis, and strategic operational projects

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent and 5 years of professional accounting experience required • Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted • Team management skills and experience preferred • Computer skills including use of web-based resources and working knowledge of spreadsheet, graphics, and scheduling software • Knowledge of Axiom, Workday, HRMS, URSpace, MyPath, IORA, and other UR systems preferred
