• Support Ryder’s Continuous Improvement culture across the operation • Apply continuous improvement methods to support operations • Identify and implement operational change through data-driven continuous improvement, engineering, and automation efforts • Improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee development performance • Collect data and perform statistical analysis • Map and document processes • Identify process gaps and recommend and implement process improvements • Develop and execute continuous improvement transformation plans • Manage and complete continuous improvement and steady-state engineering projects • Assess continuous improvement initiatives and recommend future activities • Support automation projects • Interact regularly with operations management and employees across all levels and functions • Apply engineering methodologies, Lean tools, and quality standards • Use slotting, time studies, layouts, flow optimization, data profiling and analysis, and resource modeling to improve distribution and transportation operations • Facilitate and execute Value Stream Maps and Kaizen Events, including A3 charter creation, pre-work, results delivery, and sustainment follow-up • Provide regular reports on data and actions against site objectives • Make inventory and supply chain strategy recommendations • Maintain the QMS according to company and industry standards • Implement and monitor a standardized corrective action system • Support regulatory compliance and certification requirements • Perform Quality Assurance functions for start-ups or expansions • Perform other duties as assigned
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain and three (3) years or more related work experience in Warehousing, Transportation, or Manufacturing; or Master’s degree and one (1) year related experience • If MBA, undergraduate degree in Engineering is required • Microsoft Office Suite skills, with emphasis on Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio — Advanced • Knowledge of data visualization tools such as PowerBI and Tableau, and database programming such as SQL and DAX — Intermediate, preferred • Basic knowledge of Lean/TPS core tools and processes, including 5S, Standard Work, Visual Management, and problem solving — Beginner, required • Understanding and experience in core engineering and data analysis functions, including slotting, utilization, labor planning, layouts, and metrics — Beginner, required • Knowledge of warehouse design tools such as CAD/AutoCAD, slotting tools such as Slot3D, predetermined motion and time systems such as MOST, warehouse management systems such as Manhattan SCALE, and labor management systems — Beginner, preferred • Knowledge of warehouse management operations, data analytics, industrial engineering, warehouse types, warehouse layout/design, and Lean methods • Knowledge of material handling solutions and automation, including powered industrial truck applications, racking and storage solutions, packaging equipment, conveyor and sortation equipment, and AS/RS — Intermediate, preferred • Knowledge of Dedicated Services and Managed Transportation Networks • Knowledge of equipment types including dry van, temperature control, flat bed, and specialized equipment • Knowledge of transportation design tools such as JDA and Appian, network design tools such as Llamasoft, transportation management systems such as JDA and OTM, and mapping software such as Tableau — Intermediate, preferred • Lean Six Sigma, cPMP, ISO/QMS, and APICS and/or Supply Chain Logistics Certification — preferred • Effective interpersonal skills • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships across organizational levels • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Flexibility and self-direction in a fast-paced environment • Ability to multitask with strong organization and time management • Ability to manage continuous improvement projects from beginning to sustained results • Change implementation skills • No travel
