📋 Description

• Support Ryder’s Continuous Improvement culture across operations • Apply continuous improvement methods to new and existing operations • Identify and drive operational change through data-driven continuous improvement, engineering, and automation efforts • Use data analytics, engineering methodologies, and advanced lean tools to identify and eliminate root causes • Interface with employees at all levels and functions across the operation • Collect data, perform statistical analysis, map and document processes, identify process gaps, and recommend and implement improvements • Develop and manage continuous improvement plans and transformation plan execution • Drive process improvements in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee development metrics • Manage and complete continuous improvement and steady-state engineering projects • Assess continuous improvement initiatives and recommend future activities • Support go-live and steady-state certifications and automation projects • Interact regularly with operations management and customers • Develop and demonstrate engineering methods, lean tools, and quality standards • Coach employees and process owners in continuous improvement and lean principles • Apply product slotting, time studies, flow optimization, data profiling and analysis, and resource modeling to transportation operations • Facilitate and execute Value Stream Maps and Kaizen Events, including A3 charter creation, pre-work, results delivery, and sustainment follow-up • Provide regular progress reports against site objectives • Make Supply Chain strategy recommendations • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Transportation experience and knowledge, including transportation modeling, route optimization, and hours of service • Analytic mindset and experience maintaining Power BI dashboards • Proficiency in Excel and Power BI • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field • 5 years or more of related work experience in the Transportation or Supply Chain Industry • Transportation experience in Transportation Management, Dedicated, FTL, or LTL • Expert Microsoft Office Suite skills, emphasizing Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio • Intermediate data visualization and database programming skills, including Power BI, Tableau, SQL, and DAX preferred • Beginner functional experience with Leader Standard Work, Visual Management Systems, Management Accountability Systems, PDCA, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, and 5S/Workplace Organization • Intermediate understanding of core engineering and data analysis functions, including slotting, utilization, labor planning, layouts, and metrics • Knowledge of Dedicated Services, Managed Transportation Networks, equipment types, transportation design tools, network design tools, transportation management systems, and mapping software preferred • Lean Methodology preferred • Supply Chain Logistics Certification preferred • Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills • Ability to create professional relationships across organizational levels • Flexibility, self-direction, multitasking, organization, and time management • System and change implementation skills • Ability to work independently and as a leader or team member • Ability to manage cross-functional CI projects from inception through sustained results • Ability to travel occasionally as needed
