📋 Description

• Respond to, investigate, and resolve employee relations issues thoroughly and in a timely manner • Identify trends and potential risk and escalate accordingly • Provide training on investigations, documentation, and escalation procedures • Advise managers on HR-related questions, progressive discipline, terminations, wage and hour inquiries, policies, and procedures • Train managers and supervisors in employee relations practices and conflict resolution strategies • Develop additional training as needed • Identify regional wage-and-hour compliance trends and training gaps • Support creation of compliance content and train leaders on requirements • Maintain awareness of pending state and local legislation pertinent to the region • Serve as key contact for regional People inquiries • Facilitate resolutions with the Shack Support Center and cross-functional partners • Provide technical HRIS support in Workday and payroll-related support • Manage the interactive process for ADA accommodation requests • Manage Shake Shack’s background check process in compliance with local requirements • Conduct HR audits across the region, track metrics, and identify process improvement opportunities • Fulfill legal requests and perform other duties as required

🎯 Requirements

• Experience with complex people issues and investigations • Experience thoroughly documenting investigations and performance issues and using case management systems • Experience training virtually and in person • Experience managing accommodations under ADA and state-level accommodation guidelines • Experience and knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and manage competing priorities • Ability to work at a fast pace while mitigating risk • Clear, concise, and effective written and verbal communication • High School Diploma or Equivalent • 4–6 years of related experience • Multi-unit and multi-state/jurisdiction retail or restaurant support experience • Experience managing a high volume of complex employee relations cases • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR preferred • Bachelor’s Degree listed as an education option • Master’s Degree preferred
