📋 Description

• Develop the estimating team, manage department proposal capacity, and ensure proposal quality • Own selected departmental templates and processes • Coach and guide team members for professional and personal growth • Manage development of competitive and precise project budgets in response to client RFPs • Review client RFPs to determine scope, schedule, and design criteria • Perform and review detailed material takeoffs from design documents and drawings • Manage proposal document development for customer submission • Develop subcontractor bid packages, solicit pricing, and drive competitive and innovative solutions • Answer subcontractor RFIs and manage bid evaluation, statistical normalization, selections, and cost recommendations • Facilitate alignment between Estimating and Operations • Compile and manage pricing for utility-scale solar and storage opportunities • Ensure estimates are accurate and complete before Preconstruction Leadership Team review • Identify and implement value-engineering opportunities with Business Development, Engineering, Procurement, and Operations • Support contract negotiations for client and subcontractor scopes and project pricing updates • Support Procurement in finalizing subcontractor scopes, schedules, and budgets • Track budgets and analyze cost variances for prepared project estimates • Support project teams with change orders and construction-related issues • Provide historical context for design decisions and vendor/subcontractor selections

🎯 Requirements

• Proven leadership track record • Experience with self-perform construction/estimating, utility-scale solar, and/or battery storage systems required • Strong coordination, time management, active listening, verbal and written communication, critical-thinking, analytical, and reasoning skills • Superior attention to detail; self-motivated and team-oriented • Ability to learn quickly and independently • Commitment to team and individual development; ability to determine staffing needs and allocate resources • Sensitivity to problems and ability to revise and adapt • Excellent mathematical skills • Computer literacy and MS Office proficiency • Strong Excel skills required • MS Project skills preferred • Procore experience a plus • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related area • Prior self-perform estimating experience required • Experience in subcontract tendering and response evaluation required • Experience with solar and/or battery storage required • Prior self-perform construction experience preferred • Experience with B2W estimating software preferred
