📋 Description

• Build and deliver features across Mecatl, including the agent loop, tool and permission systems, session and state management, Kubernetes runtime, and client SDKs • Fix bugs and harden the harness for production use, improving reliability, security, and observability • Write readable, testable code with edge-case and error-handling coverage • Produce clear design documents and review pull requests, including AI-assisted changes • Partner with the team anchor to understand outcomes and break down work • Escalate decisions to product or staff engineers as needed • Use AI agents in the development workflow, critically reviewing, testing, and owning their output • Experiment to improve AI workflows and share structured findings with the team • Apply security judgment to permissions, secrets handling, untrusted content, and agent trust boundaries • Contribute to open source community adoption and help users get more from Mecatl

🎯 Requirements

• Proficiency in Go • Ability to write clean, testable code accounting for edge cases and error handling • Ability to produce clear design docs and conduct thoughtful code reviews • Demonstrated ability to deliver features independently across a backend or platform codebase, from implementation through testing and into a release • Working knowledge of distributed systems and cloud-native infrastructure, including Kubernetes, containers, and service APIs such as gRPC or HTTP • Personal AI-assisted development workflow with awareness of its benefits, limitations, and risks such as prompt injection and excessive agent permissions • Interest in agent infrastructure, including agent loops, tool use, MCP, model providers, or evaluation • Excellent written and verbal communication • Self-directed, hands-on approach suited to fast-moving, ambiguous startup environments
