📋 Description

• Serve as the technical subject matter expert for payroll and timekeeping systems • Lead payroll system design, configuration, maintenance, and testing for earnings, deductions, pay components, interfaces, and compensation programs • Lead technical activities for system upgrades, implementations, integrations, and new functionality, including requirements analysis, testing, validation, documentation, issue resolution, and deployment support • Design, develop, and maintain complex payroll and workforce reports using calculated fields, advanced formulas, pay component groupings, and reporting tools • Support biweekly payroll operations and business continuity • Resolve payroll issues, validate calculations, audit payroll results, and assist with payroll tax, quarterly, year-end, W-2, and regulatory reporting • Monitor system performance and integrity through auditing, reconciliation, validation, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis • Identify and implement internal controls, automation, efficiency improvements, and sustainable process improvements • Document and standardize payroll and timekeeping workflows, procedures, and internal controls • Partner with Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, and operational leaders on payroll initiatives and system enhancements • Analyze payroll, workforce, and timekeeping data to identify trends, compliance risks, labor cost drivers, and operational issues • Develop and deliver training, job aids, and educational resources for staff, leaders, and end users • Mentor and provide technical guidance to Payroll and Timekeeping staff • Support the Payroll & Timekeeping Manager with operational planning, strategic initiatives, and department projects • Maintain knowledge of payroll regulations, wage and hour laws, payroll tax requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and organizational policies • Support organizational vision, mission, values, Lean continuous improvement, safety, confidentiality, and compliance standards • Perform additional duties of similar complexity as required or assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, Information Systems, or related field required; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree • Five (5) years of progressive payroll experience with analytical and technical functions • Experience supporting payroll processing, reporting, system configuration, and compliance activities • Experience with payroll and timekeeping systems in an analytical or systems-support capacity • Must reside in, or plan to relocate to, an approved state: Oregon, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Idaho, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Utah, or Wisconsin • Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks and deadlines • Ability to interpret data and identify trends or inconsistencies • Ability to work independently and contribute as part of a team • Strong customer service mindset and responsiveness • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, systems, and workflows • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to reach consensus and facilitate consensus building • Intermediate to advanced computer applications and Microsoft Office skills • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, data analysis tools, and reporting functions • Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
