📋 Description

• Provide legal advice and serve as in-house counsel to Strategic Education, Education Technology Services (ETS) • Negotiate and draft contracts with corporate clients, vendors, and consultants • Draft, revise, and enforce contract review and execution policies • Manage and optimize the contract review process from concept through execution • Collaborate with internal subject matter experts and business leaders during contract review • Assist with litigation and administrative proceedings involving contracts and commercial disputes • Investigate legal issues and recommend actions regarding the Company’s contractual obligations • Assist with general corporate matters • Provide legal and compliance training to in-house clients • Travel as required, approximately 10% of the time

🎯 Requirements

• Bar admission in Virginia, Maryland, Washington, DC, or Minnesota • At least three years of experience practicing law • Bachelor’s degree and JD from an ABA-accredited law school • Excellent analytical, oral, and written communication skills • Excellent interpersonal skills • Strong computer and word-processing skills • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook • Ability and willingness to apply independent judgment in a dynamic environment • Must be able to travel 10% of the time • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. • Mobility within the office, including movement from floor to floor • Ability to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant • Ability to effectively communicate up and down the management chain • Ability to cope with stressful situations • Strong mental acuity • Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality
