• Deliver specific CTE Engineering course content to grades 9-12 in an online environment • Provide instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process and focusing on individual student needs • Monitor student progress through the learning management system • Work with students and parents/Learning Coaches to advance learning and develop and monitor post-secondary success plans • Take ownership of students’ academic progress and attendance • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Conduct live synchronous teaching for a minimum of 15 hours per week • Provide asynchronous support by composing emails, planning course objectives, preparing learning plans, and using data to determine student needs • Collaborate on instruction, resources, interventions, student data, and professional development • Augment course content using prescribed policies, procedures, and online tools • Submit grades and required student work; maintain the grade book • Make placement and promotion decisions and report student progress or concerns to administrators • Build positive rapport and communicate regularly with families, students, and learning coaches/parents • Support students and learning coaches with basic computer questions when requested • Collaborate with teachers to ensure student progression and coordinated stakeholder responsibilities • Organize social and educational activities, virtual clubs, outings, and extracurricular activities as required • Travel to testing sites to proctor state exams • Comply with school policies, procedures, and applicable laws
• Ohio resident preferred; applicants from Michigan, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Indiana may be considered if within 100 miles of the Ohio border • Ability to meet travel requirements • Willingness and ability to obtain Ohio Certification • Active CTE state teaching certification OR active high school grade level state teaching certification with CTE Validation • Bachelor's degree • Six (6) months of student teaching experience • Meet requirements for Highly Qualified Teacher (HQT) in subject area under No Child Left Behind (NCLB) • Ability to clear required background check • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Professional home office without distraction during workday • Ability to travel as required, on average once per month and/or approximately 30% of the time • Reliable high-speed internet • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in technology systems, programs, and curriculum • Experience working with the proposed age group • Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology • Experience working in a virtual environment • Experience teaching in an online/virtual and/or brick-and-mortar environment • Experience with Canvas or other online platforms
