📋 Description

• Deliver specific course content in an online environment • Provide instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process • Personalize learning to meet individual student needs • Monitor student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system • Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences • Differentiate instruction based on student mastery • Augment course content using approved synchronous and asynchronous tools • Maintain the grade book and ensure student academic integrity • Make student placement and promotion decisions • Alert administrators to concerns about student performance and progress • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Establish and maintain positive rapport with families • Communicate with and respond to students and parents/learning coaches in a timely manner • Support parents/learning coaches with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues • Travel for professional development, student testing, school functions, and other required activities • Collaborate with school leadership, coaches, administrators, teacher trainers, families, and other teachers

🎯 Requirements

• Michigan Teaching Certification required • Elementary certificate required • Must reside in Michigan • Bachelor's degree • Active state teaching license • Ability to clear required background check • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday • Ability to work the school’s defined schedule, typically 9–5 or 8–4 • Ability to travel as required, on average once per month and/or approximately 20% of the time • Experience working with the proposed age group • Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology • Experience teaching in an online or brick-and-mortar environment • Experience with online learning platforms • Ability to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data • Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
