📋 Description

• Deliver specific course content for 6th grade ELA in an online environment • Provide instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process • Focus on students’ individual needs and personalize learning • Monitor student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system • Work closely with students and parents/learning coaches to advance learning toward established goals • Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences • Differentiate instruction based on student mastery • Augment course content using approved synchronous and asynchronous tools under principal and coach guidance • Maintain the grade book and ensure student academic integrity • Make student placement and promotion decisions • Alert administrators to concerns about student performance and progress • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Establish and maintain positive rapport with families • Communicate with and respond to students and learning coaches/parents in a timely manner • Support learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues • Travel approximately once per month and/or 20% of the time for professional development, student testing, and other school requirements

🎯 Requirements

• North Carolina Middle School ELA Teaching Certification or an Elementary K-6 certification • Out-of-state residents must have a North Carolina teaching certification • Bachelor's degree • Active state teaching license • Ability to clear required background check • Position is open to residents in North Carolina or border states within a 30 mile radius • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday, typically 9-5 or 8-4 • Experience working with the proposed age group is desired • Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology is desired • Experience teaching online/virtual and/or brick-and-mortar is desired • Experience with online learning platforms is desired • Ability to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data and use it to drive instructional decisions • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint is desired • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
