Swarm Aero is a developer and manufacturer of uncrewed aerial systems built from the ground up for swarming operations. The company combines on-aircraft autonomy, a universal swarm node (sensor mesh and edge compute), and swarm-scale command-and-control so small teams can mobilize large numbers of UAVs in communications-limited or contested environments. Swarm Aero emphasizes high-rate composite manufacturing and concurrent factory design to scale production, and pursues both defense-focused applications (payloads in contested environments, detecting/tracking mobile assets, security/defense in depth) and civilian uses (cargo delivery, disaster response, resilient communications, environmental observation). 📋 Description

• Architect and build the full stack of a Command & Control system directing large swarms of heterogeneous aircraft • Design foundational systems, technical patterns, and interfaces shaping Legion as it scales • Build collaborative, real-time infrastructure for controlling large numbers of aircraft through degraded or intermittent communications • Create ways to represent and interact with vehicle telemetry, sensor data, mission schedules, crew resources, data links, and other operational information • Take ambiguous operational problems from first principles to deployed capability • Own major features end to end, from system design and technical architecture through implementation, testing, and deployment • Collaborate with operators, designers, and engineers across software, autonomy, and aircraft systems • Ship early and iterate quickly using CI/CD, QA, and DevSecOps practices

🎯 Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience • 4+ years building complex full stack applications with real frontend and backend depth • Strong UI/UX instincts and the tools to back them up • Built production web interfaces with React or a comparable modern framework • Experience with both immediate mode (games, simulation) and retained mode UI paradigms • A track record with performance-sensitive application development • Familiarity with video streaming protocols • WebGL/OpenGL experience • Experience with geospatial applications • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance; active Secret clearance preferred but not required • Must meet U.S. ITAR eligibility requirements: U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain required authorizations • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
