📋 Description

• Build and maintain a proprietary pipeline of acquisition targets aligned to Ascend’s growth strategy • Run outbound business development through direct outreach to owners and founders and relationship-building with M&A intermediaries, brokers, and investment bankers • Represent Ascend in early-stage conversations with sellers and advisors • Track and prioritize targets through a structured pipeline and report status to leadership • Screen targets on revenue quality, margin profile, recurring-revenue mix, and client concentration • Build valuation models and deal economics covering multiples, synergies, and integration cost estimates • Coordinate financial, legal, and operational diligence with the CFO, legal counsel, and external advisors • Prepare deal summaries and recommendations for LOI and closing decisions • Partner with Acquisition Integration to transfer deal-stage findings into post-close integration plans • Participate in pre-close integration planning • Maintain a playbook of lessons learned to improve target criteria and diligence checklists • Collaborate with the Chief Integration and Transformation Officer, CEO, CFO, Finance, and Acquisition Integration teams

🎯 Requirements

• 3–6 years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity/growth equity, or FP&A, with direct exposure to deal execution • Demonstrated financial modeling and valuation skills, including comparables, DCF, and deal economics • Experience sourcing or evaluating deals directly, including outbound business development • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field • Prior M&A experience in MSP, IT services, or broader B2B services preferred • CFA, MBA, or equivalent preferred • Direct experience working with sell-side advisors, brokers, or investment banks preferred • Exposure to post-merger integration preferred • Ability to sit, stand, and bend for the duration of the shift • Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs • U.S. citizenship or employment eligibility options are requested in the application form
