📋 Description

• Address escalated tickets for complex operational issues in client networks • Maintain clients’ existing networks to ensure stability and compliance • Address network issues and failures during normal operation • Communicate with clients regarding the status of open tasks daily • Assist with data network design, development, and implementation projects • Work with professional services teams on client projects • Follow established processes and Ascend’s quality standards • Develop documentation for client networks, including network diagrams • Work with vendors to resolve support cases • Assist in mentoring and training junior engineers • Participate in an on-call rotation for off-hours support • Provide operational support for switches, routers, wireless access points and controllers, and firewalls • Build, configure, and secure network infrastructure for clients

🎯 Requirements

• Ability to clearly communicate complex technical problems to customers with understanding of business impact and empathy • Strong sense of urgency (required) • Minimum 3 years of Network Engineering experience, preferably at an MSP • Knowledge of VoIP technologies preferred • Experience with Fortinet, Cisco, Aruba, Palo Alto, and Ubiquiti network technologies • Experience with cloud networking concepts in Azure and AWS • Extensive knowledge of network protocols, services, and monitoring tools • Cisco CCNA and/or CCNP, or Fortinet FCP certification or equivalent working experience is required • Ability to rapidly and continually learn new technologies • Must be able to sit, stand, and bend for the duration of the shift • Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs • Occasional driving to work sites to meet clients • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related degree program (preferred)
