Texas Windstorm Insurance Association is a not-for-profit insurance entity that provides windstorm and hail insurance to homeowners and commercial property owners along the Texas coast who are unable to obtain such coverage in the regular market due to the risk of catastrophic hurricanes. Established under Texas law, TWIA administers policies, claims handling, payments, agent support and public reporting as the insurer of last resort for wind and hail exposure in designated coastal areas.

📋 Description

• Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve low- to moderate-complexity property insurance claims • Deliver exceptional service to policyholders throughout the claims process • Verify coverage and investigate claims by gathering pertinent information to determine exposure • Maintain action plans for appropriate and timely claim resolution according to policies and procedures • Identify and address coverage issues, potential fraud, and subrogation potential • Calculate and assign timely, appropriate claim reserves and monitor reserve adequacy • Conduct detailed damage and bill reviews and control claim expenses • Pay and process claims within designated authority levels, or deny payments when coverage, liability, or compensability does not exist • Enter claim payments and reserves into the computer system with concise, accurate file documentation • Communicate decisions clearly and professionally • Demonstrate a customer-centric attitude • Participate in remote catastrophe claim response efforts, legal witness testimony, training programs, work-related activities, and meetings as needed

🎯 Requirements

• 1+ year experience examining P&C Residential Property • Associate degree or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree • Texas Adjuster License or demonstrated progress toward achieving the license • Ability to sit, hear, converse over the telephone, and key frequently on a computer for long periods • May require some limited overnight travel • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree • Preferred: 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher • Preferred: AIC and/or CPCU designation • Preferred: Bilingual, English and preferably Spanish/Mandarin/Vietnamese
