📋 Description

• Lead conceptual and detailed engineering design, execution, and implementation of medium-complexity capital projects • Develop engineering solutions for process engineering projects and new technology using established design standards and methodologies • Develop construction scopes, bid packages, manufacturing alternatives, layouts, PFDs, and P&IDs • Specify, select, and evaluate equipment and suppliers • Estimate capital project costs • Coordinate and oversee equipment and system installation, checkout, and commissioning • Troubleshoot and optimize packaging systems during startup • Lead training for operators, supervisors, QA, and maintenance personnel • Transition deliverables and documentation to Plant Operations and Maintenance • Manage budgets, schedules, and resources for packaging-system capital projects • Lead multifunctional teams and make critical decisions under pressure • Collaborate with engineering, plant, manufacturing, operations, safety, quality, regulatory, EHS, R&D, marketing, procurement, and external vendors • Travel domestically and internationally as needed, averaging 35%–50% and reaching 60%–80% during certain project phases • May manage packaging systems-focused projects and co-ops or interns

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in Food Packaging Systems, Salty Snacks, Confectionery, Pharmaceutical, or related industries • Packaging systems engineering, design, project management, troubleshooting, and optimization experience • Strong understanding of packaging systems unit operations and equipment, sanitary design and construction practices, GMPs, and food safety • Experience with product distribution/conveyors, radial scales, vertical form fill seal, inspection equipment, cartoners, case packers, palletizers, and AMRs/AGVs • Understanding of packaging systems design, application, maintenance, food manufacturing equipment, automation, and instrumentation • Experience with manufacturing processes, construction practices, standards, and codes • Strong troubleshooting and optimization skills • Ability to execute projects in a timely manner • Strong leadership and decision-making ability • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills • Open and comfortable with change • Proficiency with MS Office programs • BS in Chemical, Mechanical, Food, Agricultural, or closely related Engineering field
