📋 Description

• Define, build, and support testing of autonomous trucks in a virtual testing environment using real-world data replay and simulated test and driving scenarios • Own technical direction and key architecture decisions for simulation-based test environments and infrastructure • Serve as the simulation subject matter expert, generate test scenarios, provide feedback on simulation tool features, and support organizational adoption • Support testing of virtual driver software and guide teams on simulation- and data-replay-based tools and environments • Develop simulation-based test scenarios, oversee test-plan execution, and perform post-test activities including event-log analysis • Identify requirements for virtual testing tools, test infrastructure, and simulations of real-world components and vehicle sensors • Drive alignment across verification, model delivery, and autonomy consumer teams • Mentor and develop engineers, including senior individual contributors, and help set the group's technical bar • Lead process improvements and report testing progress and technical risk to product and quality management

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Systems Engineering, or an engineering equivalent, plus 10+ years of experience; or Master's Degree in a related field plus 7+ years; or PhD in a related field plus 5+ years • Highly skilled and proficient in the discipline, conducting complex work under minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent judgment • Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) • Deep understanding of simulation-based testing, including appropriate use of recompute simulation • Extensive experience developing test scenarios and debugging complex software issues • Experience with Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) simulation and testing methodologies • Ability to lead virtual testing events, tracing and troubleshooting the entire software stack • Experience mentoring and developing engineers, including senior individual contributors • Experience reporting testing progress to product and quality management and driving resolution of technical risk • Programming experience in C++ and Python (scripting) • Experience with ROS (Robot Operating System) • System-level troubleshooting, fault isolation, and identification • Working knowledge of Test-Driven Development and test framework architectures • Experience with Kanban, Scrum, or Scaled Agile development • Experience as a technical lead across multiple simulation or V&V initiatives
