📋 Description

• Develop, create, and modify general computer applications software and specialized utility programs • Migrate and modernize legacy mainframe functionality into cloud-native microservices operating within AWS GovCloud • Operate and support an enterprise-scale production system • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues in collaboration with the ART • Analyze user needs and develop software solutions • Analyze and design databases within an application area • Apply principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule one week out of every four • Acknowledge on-call contacts within 15 minutes • Remain within reasonable access to a secure work laptop while on call • Begin assessing or troubleshooting requests within 60 minutes of notification • Provide technical leadership for the development team • Collaborate with System Architects to implement architectural decisions aligned with ART standards, patterns, and security requirements • Mentor junior and mid-level developers on solutioning, design, coding, testing, and documentation best practices • Migrate current-system functionality from mainframes to AWS GovCloud • Incorporate modern name-search capabilities • Expand image handling for larger files and formats such as PDF • Transition investigative search to Elasticsearch • Build containerized microservices using the OpenShift platform • Transition database functionality from IBM DB2 to an appropriate cloud data store • Update NIEM schemas and IEPDs to support updated functionality and retire the dot-delimited message format

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 8 years of work experience or associate's degree with a minimum of 12 years of experience • Active Tier 3 Secret clearance • Experience working within an Agile framework, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and CI/CD Pipeline • 5+ years' experience with Java Object-Oriented Programming • 5+ years' experience with Kubernetes and containers • Experience automating deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications • Experience designing, building, and operating cloud-native architecture within secure, regulated environments • Experience designing and supporting event-driven architectures emphasizing reliability, scalability, and fault tolerance • 5+ years of hands-on experience with three or more of: Apache Kafka, Pub/Sub, streaming, event sources, GitOps, version control tools, Atlassian Tool Suite • Experience with GitLab, Git, Bitbucket, ArgoCD, or Tecton • Experience with Atlassian Tool Suite, including Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket • Ability to provide on-call support one week out of every four weeks • Experience with large-scale systems • Experience with AWS • Experience with microservices development and Java microservice architectures • Experience with OpenTelemetry is nice to have • Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident for the specified security-clearance process • Active security clearance will be verified prior to moving forward
