• Support cost management services for large-scale corporate real estate, office, and workplace development projects • Advise clients on strategies and manage vendor prequalification • Assess proposals, bids, and bid levelling documents; make final recommendations; chair bid interviews; and manage vendor appointments • Manage project estimating for construction, fees, direct work, and other costs • Review junior team members’ estimates and present estimates, value engineering recommendations, and risk assessments to clients • Meet vendors to review, validate, and challenge costs; benchmark estimates against data from other projects • Establish reporting schedules and review and present cost reports and forecasts • Review project budgets and spend forecasts with clients; maintain commercial risk registers • Host periodic meetings with project teams and vendors • Manage cost control, including payment applications, contractor entitlements, change orders, payment requisitions, and contractual disputes • Manage and monitor invoicing • Benchmark performance against successful commissions • Manage final accounting, post-contract audits, and account closeouts • Conduct post-contract client reviews, document lessons learned, and create training manuals • Develop project handover procedures • Perform applicable SOX control responsibilities
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a construction-related field • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in a cost management role in the construction industry • RICS accredited or working towards it is valuable • Experience supporting cost management on medium or large-sized commercial, corporate interiors, workplace, office, or regional hub construction projects • Construction consultancy experience is strongly preferred • Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, including procurement routes, value management, and value engineering • Strong communication skills • Proficiency in/preparedness to use Bid Analysis Sheets, Change Control Forms, Cost Estimating Software, and Take-off Software • Compliance with applicable SOX control responsibilities
