• Lead engineering and design activities during proposal, design, quality control, and construction phases for assigned renewable civil and/or structural projects. • Direct and coordinate multidisciplinary project activities on significant projects or combinations of large projects. • Provide direction and oversight for subconsultants to support project delivery, quality, schedule, and client expectations. • Oversee project scope, contract requirements, change orders, schedule commitments, and technical delivery expectations. • Lead managers and teams of civil and structural engineers, designers, and technicians. • Build and sustain a positive, accountable, collaborative team culture. • Provide strategic direction, leadership, and technical services oversight. • Coach, mentor, and develop management staff through leadership conversations, career development, talent reviews, succession planning, quarterly reviews, promotion planning, retention efforts, and engagement survey follow-up. • Oversee team budgets, revenue, profitability, indirect expenses, training, recognition, and team event costs. • Evaluate capacity, skill sets, performance, and development needs to guide workforce planning and cross-team collaboration. • Partner with HR and hiring teams to evaluate candidates, participate in interviews, lead debrief discussions, and select talent. • Lead departmental continuous improvement and strategic initiatives. • Partner with Business Development and organizational leaders to execute territory sales plans, expand client services, and support revenue growth. • Shape proposal strategy and contracting efforts, including proposals, contracts, work orders, MSAs, and NDAs. • Build and sustain trusted client relationships in the Renewables market. • Represent the Renewables Civil Department in client and market conversations.
• PE registration is required. • Prior management experience is required, including ability to lead managers, develop people, and build accountable teams. • Prior renewable civil or structural design experience is required. • Strong business acumen and industry knowledge. • Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills. • Permanent authorization to work in the United States is required. • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering field from an ABET-accredited program is preferred. • Equivalent experience may also be considered. • 15+ years of experience in consulting engineering or a related infrastructure-focused environment is preferred. • Experience supporting utility-scale renewable energy projects is strongly preferred. • Sound judgment, initiative, and collaborative leadership style. • Commitment to employee engagement, manager development, talent growth, and others’ success. • Ability to build effective relationships with employees, managers, clients, partners, and external stakeholders. • Ability to manage multiple priorities and set clear expectations. • Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and growth while assessing risk, capacity, and organizational impact. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is expected. • Additional software experience may be required or preferred depending on specialty area. • Alignment with Ulteig’s values and commitment to client success, collaboration, agility, and continuous improvement. • Relevant military experience is considered for transitioning service members.
