📋 Description

• Own and evolve the technical architecture of Platform Services' core APIs and interoperability solutions • Lead design and implementation of complex cross-cutting initiatives, including FHIR interoperability and SAML, SCIM, OAuth, and SMART authentication frameworks • Set technical standards and best practices; review designs and code across new and legacy codebases • Mentor and technically coach engineers through pairing and design trade-offs • Partner with the Senior Engineering Manager on technical roadmaps and early risk identification • Represent Platform Services in cross-team technical discussions and build consensus on shared approaches • Break down ambiguous or large-scale problems into executable technical plans • Contribute production code, especially to high-leverage or high-risk system components • Contribute to a positive, solution-focused, collaborative team culture

🎯 Requirements

• 7–8+ years of relevant software engineering experience with increasing technical scope and ownership • Experience leading complex, large-scale, or cross-team technical initiatives • Deep understanding of computer science fundamentals • Experience building and operating large-scale distributed backend systems and APIs • Track record of mentoring engineers and raising a team's technical bar without formal management authority • Experience making and communicating significant architecture and design trade-offs • Experience writing clear, concise, testable, maintainable code • Proficiency with modern web development technologies and web services • Strong back-end and API integration background • Experience with cloud-based SaaS development and CI/CD practices • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related engineering field required; equivalent practical experience considered in lieu of a degree • Background check including criminal, employment, and education verification required • Preferred: OAuth, SAML, Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Python, object-oriented or functional programming, Docker, Kubernetes, New Relic or DataDog, Agile teams, healthcare or social care technologies such as FHIR
