📋 Description

• Review historical records, operational files, and standing operational procedures for compliance with local, state, and federal requirements • Conduct data analysis and prepare reports for agency personnel and the Florida Department of Transportation • Schedule, prepare, and travel to provide on-site consultation services and inspections/audits of transit agencies across Florida • Interview employees and management to assess safety, security, and operational practices • Provide formal and informal instruction on compliance and improved operational practices • Provide on-site technical assistance and guidance during compliance reviews and follow-up activities • Guide agencies in developing and implementing processes to improve maintenance operations, public safety, and compliance • Develop techniques to improve maintenance operations and create training and education programs • Deliver presentations and participate in local and state committees to improve transit operations • Coordinate reviews with FDOT personnel and Substance Abuse Management Oversight and Technical Assistance Program staff • Become a subject matter expert on Federal PTASP regulations, revised Florida Rule Chapter 14-90 regulations, battery electric buses, autonomous vehicles, microtransit, mobility management, and transit network company safety regulations

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a physical science, engineering, or related field, with one year of experience in a safety and health consultation or inspection-related position • Relevant experience in safety and health consultation and/or inspections, and/or industrial hygiene may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required degree • Four years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree • Six years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for a master's degree • Preferred: six years of professional experience in transportation/transit system safety and/or experience working in a transit agency's safety program, including safety and security compliance reviews • Ability to travel extensively across Florida • May be subject to a Level 1 or Level 2 criminal background check • Subject to Foreign Influence Screening
