📋 Description

• Plan and prepare drawings for construction of new, overhead, or underground links, cables, and conduits. • Select the most cost-beneficial routes for lines and equipment. • Prepare detailed construction and installation drawings and review OSP construction prints, CAD drawings, and GIS data. • Provide labor and materials cost estimates and design loss calculations. • Map and draft using CAD and manual processes; research and update ICMS records, permits, and ISP designs. • Manage and track OSP work schedules, cost studies, estimates, project progress, budget forecasting, tracking, and reporting. • Validate and compare data using Excel, Snowflake/SQL queries, and reporting tools. • Liaise with city officials on permitting and compliance. • Liaise with customers regarding land acquisitions for easements. • Provide real-time direction to colleagues to meet timelines and contractual obligations. • Communicate and escalate contractual, technical, scheduling, or data-related risks. • Review permits, rights of way, easements, and negotiations required for project completion. • Track and follow up on issues and actions involving colleagues and vendors. • Integrate innovations into design, engineering, and reporting practices. • Collaborate with Sales to develop tailored design solutions for potential customers. • Oversee and guide design-permitting vendors. • Perform other assigned duties, including departmental and cross-functional projects.

🎯 Requirements

• Applicants must be at least eighteen (18) years of age at the time of application. • Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills. • Demonstrated project management experience. • Strong knowledge of OSHA rules, site safety, National Electric Safety Code (NESC) requirements, and associated construction and telecommunications federal and local regulations. • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis); experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools preferred. • Experience reading OSP construction prints, CAD drawings, and GIS mapping systems such as 3GIS or equivalent platforms. • Familiarity with Snowflake and SQL queries for running, validating, and comparing data is preferred. • Able to respond promptly, manage multiple tasks and customer needs, and prioritize progress toward deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Working knowledge of OSP construction. • Working knowledge of site preparation and permitting. • Working knowledge of OSP testing and acceptance standards. • Working knowledge of creating design for local L2 and Transport architecture. • Working knowledge of Google Earth and various fiber mapping platforms. • 5+ years’ technical experience working in OSP Engineering, Construction, or Operations. • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred. • Fiber and telecommunications industry experience is essential, with a strong understanding of industry standards, technologies, and processes critical for success in the role. • Ability to frequently operate a computer, keyboard, and related peripherals. • Ability to remain seated at a workstation for extended periods.
