📋 Description

• Support safety for designated locations across operational, facility, and shop activities • Work with the Area General Manager and operational leaders to lead behavioral and organizational change • Review safety data and deploy risk-mitigation and continuous-improvement strategies • Ensure safety initiatives, processes, federal/state/local regulations, and company policies are implemented and followed • Develop and deploy safety provisions with regional, location, and maintenance leaders • Identify underperforming locations and implement corrective actions • Conduct serious-incident investigations, root-cause analyses, and communicate lessons learned • Support claims management, litigation, and workers’ compensation claim administration • Ensure appropriate driving-trainer staffing and support driver onboarding • Guide locations on policy, SOP, legal, and regulatory compliance • Prepare monthly safety reports, performance analyses, trend reports, and corrective actions • Assess safety performance using Daily Dispatch, Driver Mobile Manager, and other tools • Participate in recruiting and onboarding Location Safety Managers • Provide safety training and support train-the-trainer workshops • Use Focus, Zonar, and the Safety Care database to improve operational efficiency • Conduct annual or more frequent Safety Wellness Checks at high-risk locations • Support driver recruitment, retention, and training • Conduct safety audits and close Site Safety Review actions • Manage the BeSafe process, including Safety Leadership course delivery and coach onboarding • Provide technical oversight to Location Safety Managers • Audit training programs and verify compliance with PDDP, EDTP, and Non-Conforming Vehicles standards • Support kickoff and safety meetings and provide startup support • Perform other assigned responsibilities

🎯 Requirements

• 7 years of safety/transportation experience • 5 years of experience in fleet transportation management • Strong commitment to safety • Leadership, decision-making, and team-building skills • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook • Experience with timekeeping and payroll systems preferred • Advanced skills in FGA-approved smart technology, apps, encrypted drives, shared drives, and other smart technology • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Ability to interpret data and perform root cause analysis • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment • Ability to train, coach, and provide leadership • Collision Investigation training • State/Provincial Instructor Certification in at least one state/province in the region • Certified Smith System Defensive Driving Instructor • 2 years of college preferred or equivalent education/experience • OSHA 10-hour and safety/transportation certifications • English proficiency required
