• Lead Ziply's voice transformation roadmap, including migration from legacy TDM/SS7 to SIP/VoIP, POTS-over-fiber deployment, and copper retirement. • Architect and own the consolidated voice platform, including VoIP, SIP trunking, and legacy TDM services. • Drive SS7/SIGTRAN modernization and IP-based call routing. • Own Session Border Controller architecture, platform selection, high-availability topology, and carrier/CPE integration. • Ensure compliance with FCC requirements, E911, CALEA, and state-level interconnection obligations. • Partner with Legal, Regulatory, Security, and Operations on voice-related requirements and remediation. • Define access network architecture, including PON technology selection, OLT placement, and fiber plant design standards. • Own CPE and ONT lifecycle management, device qualification, firmware governance, and field deployment standards. • Build and own business cases for voice and access investments, including ROI and savings projections. • Negotiate and manage vendor agreements and hold partners accountable. • Build and lead a team of voice and access engineers. • Set team priorities, technical standards, decision-making cadence, and accountability mechanisms. • Coach engineers through technical tradeoffs, vendor decisions, production issues, and cross-functional dependencies. • Lead cross-functional programs with migration plans, operational readiness, customer-impact mitigation, and post-implementation tracking. • Perform other duties as required to support the business and evolving organization.
• High school diploma or GED. • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience. • 12+ years of telecommunications experience, including deep expertise in voice network architecture, access network engineering, and network transformation. • 3–5 years of experience leading engineering teams and technical professionals. • Experience in a broadband ISP, CLEC, telecommunications provider, or related network environment. • Proven delivery of voice modernization programs with quantifiable financial impact. • Expert knowledge of VoIP and SIP architecture, SBC platforms, SIP trunking, RTP media handling, and call routing. • Experience with SS7/SIGTRAN signaling modernization and migration to IP-based signaling. • Hands-on experience with POTS-over-fiber and copper retirement programs. • Working knowledge of PON architectures, GPON/XGS-PON, OLT placement, ONT/CPE lifecycle, device certification, firmware governance, and field deployment standards. • Ability to build, present, and deliver multimillion-dollar investment cases with ROI accountability. • Experience leading cross-functional technical programs with measurable delivery outcomes. • Strong vendor negotiation skills and commercial relationship management experience. • Strong experience leading and developing engineering teams. • Ability to work independently and apply sound judgment. • Ability to multitask and collaborate effectively to meet deadlines. • Strong verbal and written communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills. • Ability to work within critical deadlines and adjust to changing priorities and schedules. • Ability to provide excellent customer service. • Strong program execution discipline and ability to translate architecture decisions into delivery plans and measurable outcomes. • Executive presence and communication skills for influencing technical, operational, financial, legal, product, customer experience, vendor, and senior leadership stakeholders. • Strong analytical and financial acumen. • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the US for any employer; sponsorship is not available. • Required to pass a pre-employment background check; drug screening may be required. • Must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. • Ziply Fiber must be the primary employer; outside employment or self-employment requires written approval.
