Assured is on a mission to modernize insurance. Claims processing (i.e. should we pay this claim?), while often overlooked, is the foundation of the entire industry. It’s currently highly manual, involving phone calls, faxes, and gut instinct—costing tens of billions of dollars a year. We can do better. At Assured, we provide large insurers the software solutions they need to win in a modern, technology-driven world. From self-service claim filing software, to backend fraud detection, we’re the engine that powers claims processing for some of the largest insurers in the world. We are looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have worked in a start-up environment and wants to help us build efficient, reliable, secure, and scalable infrastructure and code. You will bring your expertise and understanding in deploying and automating the delivery of modern SaaS platforms at scale. ...

Requirements

• You have what it takes and the experience to get the job done • You can autonomously build and scale high-quality products and environments from early stages to maturity • You are inclined to automate, but you can discern when automation isn’t the best solution and present alternatives • You take initiative to identify and solve important problems, coordinating with others on cross-cutting technical issues • You make others better through code reviews, thorough documentation, technical guidance, and mentoring • You are persistent in the face of roadblocks, dispatching them efficiently, pulling in others as necessary • You are self-motivated, requiring minimal direction/oversight • You have a passion for observability and SLOs • Not required: Specific technology or programming language background. We are relatively technology-background agnostic. We believe great engineers are great engineers, and that the technologies we use will continue to evolve with the team and challenges we face. In Assured’s codebase today, you’ll find: Node.js (Typescript), Python, PostgreSQL, GraphQL, Terraform and we work with AWS, Docker, and Linux servers.
