📋 Description

• Develop stochastic modeling and optimization approaches for real-world industrial systems • Help create statistical models of individual machine behaviors based on sensor data and experimentation • Design and evaluate developed models • Link individual machine models together to optimize whole industrial systems • Translate complex physical processes into mathematical or computational models • Propose optimization techniques • Collaborate with the team on modeling industrial systems • Contribute to architectural decisions, code reviews, and engineering best practices

🎯 Requirements

• Experience or a degree in a STEM field such as operations research, applied mathematics, or industrial process engineering, with a strong interest in machine learning • Strong experience with a general-purpose programming language such as Python or C/C++ • Experience in industrial optimization, such as industrial engineering, chemical engineering, or systems engineering, desired • Experience in scientific computing or building in-silico models for complex physical or industrial systems • Ability to translate complex physical processes into mathematical or computational abstractions • Proficiency in machine learning, operations research, or high-performance computing frameworks and libraries is nice to have • Deep understanding of stochastic modeling or combinatorial optimization methods is nice to have • Familiarity with machine learning data science tools such as Vertex AI, OpenAI Platform, or Anthropic Console is nice to have • Familiarity with Bayesian optimization and stochastic processes is nice to have • Understanding of simulation techniques such as discrete event simulation, agent-based modeling, or Markov Chain modeling is nice to have
