📋 Description

• Own month-end close for assigned entities, preparing, posting and reviewing payroll, depreciation, accrual, prepayment and other journals against a strict close timetable • Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules to an audit-ready standard, investigating and clearing reconciling items • Review and guide the AP Specialist's work, including supplier, bank and credit-card reconciliations, coding and cut-off • Prepare and reconcile payroll-related journals and balances, including leave provisions and employee-related accruals • Maintain the fixed asset register and prepayment/amortisation schedules • Manage intercompany balances and multi-currency/revaluation processes across the Group • Support VAT and statutory accounting requirements across Netherlands, USA, Portugal and UK entities, working with external advisers where needed • Own the general ledger and month-end close in a multi-currency environment • Report to the Financial Controller

🎯 Requirements

• Fully qualified accountant — CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA or equivalent • 4+ years post-qualification / post-articles experience in financial accounting, ideally in a commercial, multi-entity environment • Hands-on experience with month-end journals, general ledger accounting and balance sheet reconciliations • NetSuite experience highly advantageous (or a comparable multi-entity ERP); strong Excel skills • Experience reviewing the work of a bookkeeper or AP team member is a plus • A detail-oriented, self-sufficient operator who can manage recurring deadlines, question unsupported numbers, and communicate clearly and concisely
