• BrightAI is a high-growth company at the forefront of AI, IoT, Cloud, and Mobile technologies. • We are dedicated to revolutionizing industries and transforming the way businesses operate. • Our team is comprised of the best and brightest minds, many of whom have played key roles in leading companies such as Microsoft, Amazon Alexa, SmartThings, and Samsung. • As we continue to expand, we are seeking innovative individuals to join us on this exciting journey. • We are looking for a Hardware Engineer to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced environment. • As a Hardware Engineer at BrightAI, you will play a pivotal role in designing and building next-generation hardware / software / AI systems. • You will be responsible for the creation of Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs) and specifying components for our world-class products. • Responsibilities - Define and capture hardware system features, functions, and interfaces as well as guiding products through their developmental and certification processes - Run a hardware project from concept through to production - Specify, build, and demo proof-of-concept hardware - Work with suppliers both in the US and abroad - Develop and maintain company-wide hardware development processes (CMMI or equivalent) - Integrate and troubleshoot issues with both mechanical and electrical hardware - Create and maintain circuit schematics and PCB layouts in OrCad/Allegro - Bring up new circuit boards containing ARM CPUs and MCUs - Write and execute hardware verification test plans - Create board support packages for Linux OS including installing and/or modifying software drivers - Generate electrical architecture solutions to optimize the electrical design for new project needs - Design, model, simulate, and verify circuits analog and digital circuits - Layout and optimize routing on PCBs, including high-speed buses - Support software engineering in development and troubleshooting efforts - Travel to support critical hardware bring up, manufacturing, and customer support - Other duties as assigned
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering • A minimum of 4+ years of hands-on experience in circuit board design • Proficiency in embedded system design, encompassing circuit design, testing, debugging, and firmware development • Strong skills in analog and mixed-signal circuit design and simulation • Experience in designing and implementing digital interfaces, including UART RS232 / RS485, I2C/SPI, USB, SDIO, as well as wireless protocols such as LTE 4G/5G, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi • Regulatory experience, particularly with FCC and PTCRB certifications and familiarity with electronics test instruments (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, meters, spectrum analyzers, etc.) • Proficiency with MATLAB and SPICE • Applied knowledge of Allegro printed circuit board layout design software • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present a strong rationale for design decisions • Proficient soldering skills, including placing and replacing both Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and thru-hole components; IPC610 certification preferred • Familiarity with using and developing software in the Linux operating system
