📋 Description

• Design, build, and maintain integrations with Amadeus APIs and other GDS systems • Develop and enhance a booking engine supporting flights and hotels, with car rental planned next • Own the reservation lifecycle end-to-end, including search and pricing, booking, ticketing, cancellations, changes, and refunds • Handle price and availability changes mid-flow, PNR handling, multi-destination itineraries, and room/rate combinations • Build and maintain backend services and APIs powering travel workflows • Collaborate with engineering, product, and QA teams across time zones • Take ownership of features from design through production • Ensure scalability, performance, and reliability of integrations and systems • Improve engineering practices, including code quality, testing, and architecture maturity • Contribute to building the core booking engine from the ground up

🎯 Requirements

• Hands-on experience building travel products against GDS APIs; Amadeus is the priority, with Sabre or Travelport also welcome • Understanding of the reservation lifecycle, including air and hotel booking flows, ticketing, cancellations, reschedules, refunds, and exchanges • Practical fluency with PNR, fare rules, negotiated/private fares, availability, and pricing behavior • Solid backend engineering experience (5–10+ years, or equivalent depth) • Experience building API integrations and distributed systems • Experience with PHP (Laravel), or strong backend experience in another language with willingness to work in PHP • Experience with relational databases such as MySQL • Ability to investigate imperfect vendor documentation and API behavior independently • Ability to work autonomously in a senior individual-contributor capacity • Exposure to NDC/direct airline distribution, Python, AWS/GCP/Azure, NoSQL databases, scaling products, CI/CD, testing, or engineering processes is a plus • Strong communication skills across distributed teams • Travel technology domain expertise and understanding of travel business logic • Frontend experience is not required
