📋 Description

• Lead the design and implementation of scalable backend services powering CookUnity’s personalization systems • Define and drive architectural improvements to enhance reliability, scalability, and maintainability • Collaborate with Product and Data teams to provide users with tailor-made content • Mentor and guide engineers while setting standards for technical excellence and proactive ownership • Evaluate and introduce technologies, frameworks, and AI adoptions to improve the backend stack and development velocity • Improve observability, performance, and resilience of revenue-critical systems • Write clean, well-tested, efficient code as a hands-on engineer • Lead technical planning and project execution, breaking complex problems into manageable solutions and delivering initiatives on time • Develop and maintain backend services, databases, APIs, and the Server-Driven UI service within the Backend-for-Frontend architecture • Collaborate with Engineering, Design, Data, Customer Experience, Operations, engineering leadership, and product managers

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in full stack/backend software development • Expertise in React, Kotlin, TypeScript, and SQL databases, including PostgreSQL or MySQL • Experience architecting and scaling complex backend systems in a high-growth, fast-paced environment • Strong knowledge of distributed systems, service-oriented architecture, and event-driven architecture • Deep understanding of system performance and scalability best practices • Ability to translate complex, ambiguous requirements into clear, actionable plans • Advanced English communication skills • Demonstrated experience mentoring and guiding engineers • Ability to leverage generative AI to increase output quality and speed • Preferred: experience with DevOps tools and cloud platforms, including Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS • Preferred: experience with React Native • Experience in the food technology sector is a plus
