📋 Description

• Provide business support, technical leadership, guidance, and leadership to Projects and Services across Australia • Address electrical safety and operational concerns during installation, testing, and maintenance of Wind Turbine Generators and related substations • Represent the business in national electrical contracting endeavors • Develop compliance plans for electrical contracting requirements in each Australian state • Ensure electrical licenses for GE Renewable Energy and engaged contractors remain current and compliant • Oversee High Voltage safety procedures and operations across service and project sites • Create and implement Verification of Competency programs for HV switching • Develop and implement electrical safety and operational switching procedures at wind farm sites • Develop and maintain electrical training programs, including LOTO support • Support EHS audit programs covering safety, training, operations, and electrical equipment maintenance • Review contractor licenses and state compliance • Support isolation schedules, lock boxes, HV permitting, and HV operations • Institute electrical testing programs for infrastructure with Engineering • Advise operations teams on electrical infrastructure operations and maintenance • Review electrical maintenance contractor scopes and audit performance • Implement and review engineering-designed testing and commissioning programs • Provide technical advice, audits, compliance, commissioning, and installation support for HV products and electrical systems

🎯 Requirements

• Australian electrical License – A grade • Experienced HV operator with current training • HV and LV operations experience • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics • Permit recipient and work control experience • Procedural development experience • Experience with network operating authorities and their procedures, with possible training requirements • Knowledge of installation and commissioning best practices • Willingness to train and mentor others and manage a small team • Knowledge of contracting and nominee requirements, with option to hold position • Substation commissioning, operations, and maintenance background desirable • Relevant experience in the generation and transmission power industry • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions under pressure • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Safety-focused mindset and comprehensive understanding of industry safety standards and protocols • Flexibility to travel and work on-site at various project and operation locations as required • Intermediate computer skills, including MS Office • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Valid Australian driver's licence • Previous GE WTG experience desirable • Availability to monitor, read, and respond to contact outside normal working hours across time zones
