Description

• Working on Here's core UI, improving the in-room experience, including drawing and manipulation tools and enhancing video rendering performance • Designing and building reusable components for extending Here in flexible ways • Opportunity to work with an experienced founding team and be exposed to early days and decisions that will make a startup successful • Responsibility for conception, implementation, and measurement of projects • Working in a problem space with a lot of uncharted territory • Genuine care for the user experience and a drive to bring out-of-the-box ideas to life • Opportunity to work on a wide range of projects in a small and close-knit team • A chance to help build the "OS for hanging out," and create a fun, weird, and shared online space.

Requirements

• Well-rounded engineering skills to understand the complexity of end-to-end systems • Solid understanding of web UI engineering and experience in building intuitive user interfaces • Ability to diagnose difficult performance issues and optimize performance ruthlessly • Familiarity with the DOM and Canvas rendering and willingness to explore other technologies like WebGL • A decisive builder, shipper, and craftsperson with a passion for problem-solving • Must be willing to do the right thing and have a strong personal opinion while remaining open to others • Enjoy working within a startup environment with constantly evolving priorities • Belief and passion for building better online experiences that bring people together.
