Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT) is a US 501(c)(3) charitable organization launched in 2010 that promotes and supports volunteers and local groups globally in building OpenStreetMap, with a focus on humanitarian mapping to aid in disaster relief, preparedness, and economic development. HOT connects the OpenStreetMap community with traditional humanitarian responders and sponsors the development of open source tools for the community while providing training and support for data collection efforts. The organization is committed to using open data and software principles for humanitarian response and fostering local mapping communities.

📋 Description

• Research, identify, and track funding opportunities that are a match for HOT’s work in Asia. • Develop donor engagement strategies and materials for donor cultivation. • Lead the overall concept note/proposal/bid development. • Review, edit, and write the final version of proposals to ensure clear, cohesive, and impactful narratives. • Maintain a grants calendar and system to manage deadlines and submission status. • Prepare required interim and final reports for funders, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience. • 3+ years of grant writing with a demonstrated track record leading successful funding proposals for $250,000 to $1 million. • Excellent writing, editing, and research skills with strong attention to detail and narrative skills. • Understanding of international development, philanthropy, and funding trends. • English-language fluency required. • Professional proficiency in a regional language a plus. • Understanding of database management. • Experience with NeonOne a plus.
