• Conduct research on the agrochemicals and textiles sectors within the petrochemical industry • Conduct research on banks and financial mechanisms of the petrochemical industry • Conduct horizon scanning for petrochemical industry developments by reviewing articles, annual reports, investor presentations, and industry publications • Prepare forecasts and analysis of trends in the Indian agrochemical and textile sectors within the petrochemical industry • Collect economic data from established datasets and other sources, utilizing data collection and data science protocols • Utilize statistical analysis and mathematical methodologies to develop data • Engage with relevant external stakeholders, including regulators, banking institutions, investors, and MDBs, in India and abroad • Represent IEEFA at meetings • Collaborate with team members and work independently to research and write original reports and commentaries on India’s petrochemical industry • Draft, format, and proofread reports, submissions, press releases, and presentations • Perform other duties as assigned • Work five days per week, with occasional evening or weekend work as required • Attend IEEFA’s annual conference and international team retreat • Travel as required
• 2-4 years’ experience in economics / finance, including at least two years of experience related to the petrochemical industry (agrochemicals) of India • A bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, public policy • Comprehensive experience analysing the industry growth’s impact on the economy, financial reporting, stocks, and investment portfolios • Proficient understanding of finance, public policy and quantitative analysis • Understanding of policy and regulatory landscape in the petrochemical industry, with a focus on India • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated through publications, reports, commentaries and liaising with regulators/ government stakeholders • High degree of technological proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, and demonstrated ability to learn new software and applications • Commitment to IEEFA’s mission to accelerate the transition to a diverse, sustainable, and profitable economy • Knowledge and experience of ammonia and agrochemical sectors • Demonstrated commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in a collaborative, team-based environment • Must be able to work for prolonged periods at a computer • Qualified applicants should submit a resume and cover letter
