Description

• Manage all aspects of US and International tax planning, including researching and interpreting tax laws, rulings, and regulations to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting and compliance. • Assure timely payment of tax provisions to all tax agents. Gross receipts tax, income tax, sales/use tax, VAT and property tax. • Collaborate with tax preparers, review all federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring accuracy and completeness while minimizing tax liabilities. • Oversee tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to provide necessary documentation and support. • Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the company's overall tax position while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Accounting, Legal, Hiring, Technology, and Operations, to identify tax implications of business decisions and transactions. • Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on the company, recommending and implementing necessary adjustments to tax strategies and compliance processes. • Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on tax matters, ensuring understanding and compliance with tax policies and procedures. • Manage relationships with external tax advisors and consultants, coordinating their efforts to support the company's tax objectives effectively. • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in tax management and incorporate them into the company's tax planning and compliance strategies. • Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by senior management, contributing tax expertise and insights to achieve business objectives.

Requirements

• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain tax • Technical Tax Skills: Exceptional knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations. This includes understanding of tax compliance, tax planning, tax analysis, and the ability to handle tax audits. • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data and extract and redefine reports from it. • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with tax and accounting software (Netsuite a plus), and Google Suites. • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify issues, gather and analyze information, and resolve problems in a timely manner. • Critical Thinking Skills: Ability to handle “out of the box” situations through critical thinking and use of resources.
