Description

• Build predictive models and apply scientific computing, statistical, and physics-based methods • Create worldwide dataset for exploration program • Develop software to accelerate discovery of critical battery metals • Collaborate closely with geoscientists • Help KoBold make valuable discoveries • Help develop proprietary software exploration tools • Find and integrate geoscientific data into proprietary data system • Build models for compositional anomalies • Create visualizations for model evaluation • Apply data processing, statistical, and physics-based techniques to geoscientific data • Collaborate with external partners and stakeholders

Requirements

• Technical skills: Python, collaborative software development, SQL, cloud computing resources, predictive modeling, working with various types of data, geospatial analysis and visualization • Technical knowledge: Applied statistics, machine learning algorithms • Training and work experience: Advanced degree in relevant field, 90 years of post-degree work experience as a data scientist or data engineer • Work practices and motivation: Ability to take ownership, constantly learn, explain technical problems to non-developers, excitement about joining a fast-growing company and ability to prioritize tasks effectively • Helpful but not required: Experience with machine learning on geospatial data, geostatistics, image processing or computer vision, distributed computing applications, containerization solutions
