Description

• Build predictive models and apply scientific computing methods • Help build a worldwide dataset for exploration program • Create models and develop software to accelerate discovery of critical battery metals • Work closely with geoscientists to incorporate understanding of chemical and physical processes • Create geologic predictions, identify exploration targets, and design field programs • Help develop KoBold's proprietary software exploration tools • Find and curate geospatial, geophysical, geochemical, geologic, and geographic data • Build models to predict compositional anomalies within Earth's crust • Create visualizations for evaluating model performance • Apply data processing, statistical, and physics-based techniques to geoscientific data • Present and collaborate with external partners and stakeholders

Requirements

• Technical skills in Python's data science packages and software engineering practices • Familiarity with collaborative software development and best practices • Experience with SQL and non-relational databases • Knowledge of cloud computing resources • Expertise in building predictive models and working with different types of data • Proficiency in geospatial analyses and visualizations • Broad skills in applied statistics and understanding of Machine Learning algorithms • Advanced degree in physical sciences, engineering, computer science, or mathematics • Post-degree work experience as a data scientist or data engineer • Ability to take ownership of large projects • Enjoys continuous learning and driving insights • Ability to explain technical problems to non-developers • Excitement about joining a fast-growing company • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively • Helpful to have experience in machine learning on geospatial data, geostatistics, image processing or computer vision, distributed computing, and containerization solutions
