• Develop and execute the Japan channel strategy and annual business plan • Recruit, onboard, and optimize dealer and sub-dealer coverage • Establish revenue, pipeline, activity, coverage, and compliance expectations with channel partners • Conduct pipeline reviews, quarterly business reviews, training plans, and co-marketing initiatives • Enable partners to position MaxCyte solutions, execute demos, and advance complex sales opportunities • Own and scale strategic partner relationships in the cell and gene therapy ecosystem • Co-create and execute Joint Business Plans aligned with partners’ pipeline timelines and therapy development goals • Lead negotiations for platform licensing and long-term collaboration agreements • Build relationships with end-customer stakeholders to create demand through channel partners • Identify, qualify, and advance opportunities across biotech, pharma, CDMOs, and academic centers • Monitor competitive offerings, pricing, funding, and therapeutic trends and provide actionable insights • Manage Japan pipeline, forecasting, CRM hygiene, deal progression, next steps, and close plans • Lead product presentations and demonstrations • Coordinate Sales, Field Applications, Marketing, Operations, and Finance for customer experience and order fulfillment • Ensure channel activities comply with company policies, local requirements, ethical practices, and relevant standards • Represent the company at industry meetings, customer visits, and partner events
• BS in Life Sciences or a related field • Minimum 10 years of direct sales experience in companies selling life science tools to biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and research markets • 8+ years of commercial experience in life science tools, biotech, pharma, or related markets • Extensive experience selling capital equipment exceeding $100K into pharmaceutical and biotechnology accounts • Proven record of consistently achieving sales targets • Experience navigating complex buying committees and long, multi-stakeholder sales cycles • Demonstrated success operating within a dealer / sub-dealer channel model • Ability to enable partners, manage performance, design coverage, and execute indirect sales • Ability to build and manage distributor relationships and drive accountability against targets and activity KPIs • Strong business planning, forecasting, KPI-driven execution, disciplined CRM usage, and pipeline hygiene • Excellent communication, negotiation, and influence skills • Strong technical fluency for solution-based selling in life science workflows • Strong knowledge of cell and gene therapy, cell line development and manufacturing, immunology, and cell-based assays • Understanding of transfection techniques and technologies • Native/fluent Japanese and business-level English • Established industry relationships in protein production, cell therapy, immunology, cell biology, high-throughput screening, and high-content screening • Track record of launching or scaling new channel partners or product lines in Japan • Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, high-growth environment • Ability to travel approximately 50% across Japan, with occasional APAC travel as needed
