📋 Description

• Independently run the day-to-day estimating and quoting workflow • Review customer enquiries, plans, drawings and job schedules • Check plans against schedules and flag discrepancies before quoting • Request missing photos, information or clarification from management • Perform takeoffs from civil/road design drawings using Adobe • Record and tally quantities in Excel • Build accurate quotes using company templates, pricing structures and rates • Source, compare, chase and confirm supplier pricing • Calculate margins and final business costs before management review • Prepare quotes for management to review and issue to clients initially • Communicate directly with suppliers using the company's official email • Flag potential client opportunities to management; this is not a sales role • Take on more direct client contact over time as agreed, initially by email and potentially by phone • Ask clarifying questions rather than guessing or agreeing by default • Escalate genuine exceptions once confident with the workflow • Report directly to the General Manager and Operations Manager • Maintain quote accuracy, turnaround times, professionalism and client satisfaction

🎯 Requirements

• Very good written and spoken English communication • Engineering background, ideally civil engineering, or hands-on experience with civil/road horizontal works • 5+ years' experience as a senior Estimator • Hands-on daily experience using Adobe for drawing takeoff/markup and Excel for quantities and quotes • Genuine focus on client satisfaction • Confident, independent reading of civil/road design drawings and schedules • Own computer/laptop; 16GB RAM or more recommended • Private home office suitable for full-time remote work • Availability for full-time hours aligned to Australian business hours (AEST) • Accurate, methodical takeoff and quantity calculation • High attention to detail • Prior road safety barrier or similar civil/road infrastructure estimating experience is desirable • Experience with Australian clients, councils, builders or construction companies is desirable • Familiarity with estimating or takeoff software beyond Adobe and Excel is desirable
