📋 Description

• Design and evolve backend systems powering real-time collaborative document editing for tens of thousands of concurrent users • Own the content model and data persistence layer, including schema design, migrations, compatibility, and long-term maintainability • Build and maintain event-driven pipelines using Kafka and NATS • Process high volumes of frontend interactions and maintain consistent document state across services • Contribute to reliability, observability, and operational excellence of Python microservices • Ship product features end-to-end from backend architecture through production monitoring • Contribute to AI-powered capabilities, including agentic document workflows • Collaborate within the Content engineering team on document editing, persistence, and real-time collaboration infrastructure

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of Python development experience in production environments • Strong experience with relational databases, SQL, schema design, migrations, and query optimization • Hands-on experience with message queues and event-driven architectures, including Kafka, NATS, RabbitMQ, or similar • Deep understanding of AsyncIO and concurrent systems • Experience building and operating microservice architectures at scale • Ability to reason about distributed systems, consistency, ordering, and failure modes • Understanding of the full development lifecycle from requirements through deployment and production monitoring • Active use of AI tools in daily workflow and critical evaluation of their output • Effective written and oral English communication • AI agent, LLM-powered workflow, or agentic system experience is nice to have
