📋 Description

• Build and lead a high-performing team across pricing algorithms, forecasting, and data pipelines • Own delivery, quality, and operational health of pricing runs • Grow team members through 1:1s, feedback, performance reviews, and career development • Hire, onboard, and develop engineers • Partner with Product, challenge direction, and drive changes to what the team builds • Translate business goals into engineering plans with measurable outcomes and realistic timelines • Use backtesting, model quality, and before-and-after signals to guide prioritization • Balance delivery velocity with technical sustainability, debt, scalability, and reliability • Provide technical oversight through design and code review • Act as a buffer between the team and external pressure • Improve engineering processes and practices • Lead technical improvements across the Product and Engineering department • Work closely with a Product Manager and report to the Senior Engineering Manager • Lead a team of four engineers, with potential future inclusion of an Associate Engineering Manager

🎯 Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience, with several years genuinely managing engineers, including performance management • Strong software engineering background and experience building and operating production systems • Backend and data-intensive or algorithmic domain experience ideally • Experience growing or managing other managers is a plus • Strong product mindset and confidence challenging Product • Technically credible and willing to get hands-on when needed • Comfortable with Python/Django, Snowflake, dbt, and Dagster • Exposure to forecasting, modelling, or data engineering is a strong plus • Strong grasp of system design, architecture, and engineering best practices • Excellent communication and leadership skills • Servant-leadership mindset • Fluent in English • Based in a European time zone (UTC+0 to UTC+2) • Eligible to work where you live; RoomPriceGenie does not offer sponsorship
