Description

• Support the establishment of a best in class finance and accounting function. This role is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant who would like to be part of transitioning the Company to be audit ready and have a real impact. As the company is growing quickly, career progression opportunities are likely to arise for the right candidate. • Oversee month-end close activities, including prepayments, accruals, fixed assets, inventory, and balance sheet reconciliation. • Manage invoice finance tasks such as forecasting, transaction management, and automation initiatives. • Conduct VAT return reviews to ensure compliance and accuracy. • Guarantee correct coding of OPEX invoices, including account and VAT codes. • Review employee and contractor expenses for adherence to Company policy. • Handle claims, credit notes, and agent commissions effectively. • Aid in establishing and upholding robust financial controls. • Drive the enhancement of current financial processes for greater efficiency. • Provide vital support to the daily operations of the accounting team. • Consistently achieve KPI targets in line with organizational goals. • Respond to and manage ad-hoc financial requests and challenges.

Requirements

• Fully qualified accountant (e.g., ACCA, CIMA). • Strong knowledge of UK VAT and tax, highly favored. • Previous experience with Xero is preferred. • SQL skills are a beneficial addition. • Experience in a start-up or fast-paced business environment. • Ability to thrive in an unstructured work setting. • Demonstrated responsibility and ownership of work. • Proven track record of implementing process improvements. • Critical and analytical mindset, willing to challenge existing processes. • Proactive problem-solving skills. • Highly organized with the capacity to prioritize in a multitasking environment. • Independence in work, coupled with the ability to meet stringent deadlines. • Exceptional attention to detail in all aspects of work.
