📋 Description

• Own the intake, triage, and resolution of inbound engineering support requests across the platform • Investigate issues using application logs, direct Postgres queries, and request tracing through Rails and Python services • Resolve in-scope issues with quality, readable, testable code • Escalate out-of-scope issues with clear, evidence-backed writeups • Work alongside AI triage tooling; review, verify, and act on its research • Turn recurring problems into documentation, runbooks, and tooling • Identify patterns across support requests and raise underlying issues to product teams • Communicate status, impact, and timelines to internal stakeholders • Foster a culture of security and adopt security best practices throughout the codebase

🎯 Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience building or supporting production software systems • Professional fluency in written and spoken English • Ability to work with significant overlap with US Eastern business hours • Strong debugging instincts and ability to work from unclear reports to root causes • Working knowledge of SQL and ability to query a production database • Professional coding experience in Ruby on Rails, Python, or Javascript • Willingness to learn across the stack • Comfort reading unfamiliar code and systems • Experience with Git and GitHub • Experience using AI tools to accelerate engineering work, such as Claude Code • Clear written communication and ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders • Willingness to become a domain subject matter expert in a highly regulated industry • Enthusiasm, curiosity, and flexibility in a startup environment • Preferred: support engineering, production support, or on-call experience • Preferred: Ruby/Ruby on Rails experience • Preferred: observability and error monitoring tools such as Datadog, Sentry, or Rollbar • Preferred: AWS cloud technologies such as ECS, S3, or RDS • Preferred: Fintech, insurance, banking, or similar financial services experience • Preferred: early/mid-stage startup experience
